I'm an English Writing and Women's Studies dual major. I'm a feminist, a Whovian, and a writer.

I LOVE River Song and I LOATHE Rose Tyler. Also, I don't like Regina Mills and the fact that she systematically raped Graham, but the writers make light of it because she's "hot." These things will be blatantly clear on my Tumblr. If you can't handle that, it would be best not to follow me in the first place. I do not hold back about the things I love and hate.

Also, important note: I am NOT a spoiler free blog!

It is what it is and if you decide to follow me anyway, welcome! <3

jessthecoconut:

Does anyone have some good sore throat remedies, besides the usual warm showers, and lots of fluids?

Avoid milk and dairy products. They clog up your throat and produces more mucus.

I think it depends on the cold string you have because I’ve had success with some remedies in the past for a sore throat with one cold and then they’ve been not nearly as effective with another sore throat. But things that have worked really well at one time or another:

  • Sucking on black licorice (also, black licorice tea; I like to dip my black licorice strings in black licorice tea)
  • There are various “sore throat teas” that you can buy (but I can’t remember the brand of the one I used)
  • Airborne
  • Honey (literally straight spoonfuls of honey, they coat your throat)

Then of course you’ll have varying degrees of success with cough drops/sore throat drops and sprays. My mother always says to do gargle with warm salt water, too, but that never seems to help me personally.

  3. rubiesandwings answered: I always avoid milk and milk products and drink (green) tea with honey.
